Douglas PC is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe technology should lower barriers, not create them.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This includes sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigability, clear focus indicators, descriptive alternative text, and semantic markup that works with screen readers and other assistive technology.

What we've done

• Light theme by default, with a dark theme you can switch to at any time. Your choice is remembered.
• Text contrast measured in both themes against WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.3 (Level AA, 4.5:1). Body text is 15.9:1 in light and 16.0:1 in dark; secondary text is 7.6:1 and 6.2:1.
• Semantic HTML headings and landmarks for screen-reader navigation.
• A "skip to main content" link for keyboard users.
• Visible focus indicators on every interactive element (SC 2.4.7).
• Touch targets at least 44px tall (SC 2.5.8).
• Responsive layouts that reflow to a single column at 320px and work with zoom up to 200% (SC 1.4.4, SC 1.4.10).
• Motion respects your system's reduced-motion setting.
• Forms with visible, associated labels.

Measuring our conformance

Automated tools catch roughly a third of accessibility issues, so this statement reflects both automated checks and manual review. We test with automated contrast and rule checking, then verify keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader behaviour by hand.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is continuous, not a one-time task. We review the site regularly and improve it as standards evolve. Known gaps we are still working through: full screen-reader testing across every page, and verifying all video content has captions.
